GMO OMG Documentary Film at Yavapai Community College

The premier showing of ‘GMO OMG’, a new documentary by filmmaker Jeremy Seifert, will be hosted by GMO-Free Prescott and Yavapai College Community Education on Wednesday, February 26, at 7 PM. The film will be shown at the Yavapai College Center for the Performing Arts, 1100 E. Sheldon St. in Prescott.

Advance tickets are available by calling 928-717-7755.

The cost is $8.00; free admission for children under 18 who are accompanied by their parent.

‘GMO OMG’ is a family film in which a concerned father searches for answers to: How do GMOs affect our children, the health of our planet and our freedom of choice? And perhaps the ultimate question, which Seifert tests himself: is it even possible to reject the food system currently in place, or have we lost something we can’t gain back? These and other questions take Seifert on a journey from his family’s table to Haiti, Paris, Norway, and the lobby of agra-giant Monsanto, from which he is unceremoniously ejected. Along the way we gain insight into a question that is of growing concern to citizens the world over: what’s on your plate?

The film will be followed by and a Q & A session.

Join the Prescott Homeschool Hub team! It’s a fun, low-key blog about homeschooling in the area. If you tend to be in-the-know about things going on locally, your contribution to this site would benefit many others! Are you part of a homeschool group that sometimes organizes a class or event that could benefit other homeschoolers? Do you want to grow your own homeschool group or start one up? Do you want to share information about a class or activity opportunity? Please share! Join the team!

Team members can contribute when it’s convenient to them…whether it’s weekly, monthly, or as life often goes, sporadically.

My daughter working on her Explorer guide at Watson Lake. I {heart} homeschooling!

Now that I’ve built this website up a little bit, I’m ready for everyone to help me spread the word about this! Please share the website via email or FB. I would love for this to turn into THE place for homeschooling families in the Prescott area to collaborate with and turn to when they are wondering where they can turn to enrich their child’s education. And with that said, non-homeschooling families will find a lot of information here valuable.

  • And just so you know, here are some ideas I have as I move forward in the future:
  • More complete class offerings in the area
  • Spotlights on local homeschooling families to feature the nuts and bolts of home education that newbies and old hats always wonder: What does your schedule look like? Why did you choose to homeschool? What works for you? What just doesn’t work for you?
  • Links to GREAT internet resources, local homeschool mom bloggers, etc.
  • Info on a class/mentoring opportunity someone might wish to start up

To keep everything updated, please email me the local happenings and classes you know about.

Also, a big thanks to Patterson Orthodontics for sponsoring this website. Thanks to them, I was able to shorten the URL to just
