Musical Instrument Lessons & More from Yavapai Music Instructors

I received this email from a music teacher at Yavapai College. He and his wife are reaching out to teach private instrumental and voice lessons to homeschoolers. Please take a look at the many other options he is offering! Maybe something will work out for your child (or yourself?)! While some of this is time sensitive, other options may be available in the future, too (for families whose kids aren’t in HS yet).

Here is a quick rundown of what he is offering:

  • Private lessons for low brass instrument (tuba, trombone, baritone)
  • Private voice lessons
  • College credit for music lessons for HS students
  • Auditions for Music scholarships on April 3rd ($$$ to pay for music lessons)
  • Participate in college bands for free: Collegiate Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra

From Calvin Audis, Low Brass Instructor at Yavapai College.
I am providing private lessons for any low brass instrument. This includes the tuba, trombone, and baritone/euphonium. My wife, who is on faculty as well at Yavapai, provides voice lessons for all ages. These are private lessons outside of the school, and can be taught either at home or at the Yavapai College Prescott Campus.
Although registration is now closed for the college, we also provide lessons through Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus. For any student who is in high school, signing up for Music lessons would be ideal because they will receive credit towards College. Every degree requires a student to have so many liberal arts and elective credits, lessons can be applied to said requirements. On April 3rd, Yavapai College will be holding auditions for Music scholarships (which will pay for lessons). If anyone is interested, I can assist them with the audition process.
Finally, I work intimately with Chris Tenney (the head of the instrumental department). He has inform me that any student of high school age is invited to participate in one of the following bands for free:
Collegiate Band
Symphonic Band
Orchestra
The faculty at Yavapai College would like to see our program grow. We want to invite all of the kids and parents to our program and to our concerts. If anyone is interested, please feel free to give them my information.
Sincerely,
Calvin Audis
