Homeschooling Families:

My name is Jane Slotnick, and this will be my fifth year to teach personal finance at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond.  During my years, I have developed my own curriculum for my students.  My husband, a programming whiz, decided he wanted to create an interactive web-based program that would allow kids to learn about many aspects of financial literacy in a real-life simulation.  Everything from banking to taxes is included.

The name of the course is Personal Finance for Teens.  URL is www.perfinforteens.com.  When you select the Demo Site tab, you’ll be able to see both a teacher and student account.  As a homeschool parent, you would be the teacher with as many students as necessary connected to your account.  Several homeschooling families at my church have used the program and loved it.  Learning has skyrocketed for both those families and the students I teach at OCS.

Please take a look at the program and share with the other families in your group.  It is a great option for teaching this valuable life skill.    If you have any questions, I would be happy to help you any time.

Thank you so much,

Jane Slotnick

This does look like a great resource for homeschoolers. Since my kids aren’t old enough to start the program, I will pin it to a Pinterest board for future reference. So if your kids aren’t old enough either but it looks like a good curriculum, bookmark it, Pin it, save it somehow so you don’t forget about it! (FYI–I am not endorsing it, nor reviewing it, nor being compensated in any way to share the info here. Just like many other resources on this page, the owner emailed me asking me to share the information with others, and I am gladly obliging!)
